Swedish Massage

Swedish massage therapy comes to mind when most people think about massage. One of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart.  Swedish massage is also exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Reiki

Reiki ( pronounce Ray-Key) is a Japanese  healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient from the palms of the therapist, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is often used to relieve myofascial pain syndrome. Myofascial pain syndrome is a chronic pain disorder caused by sensitivity and tightness in your myofascial tissues. These tissues surround and support the muscles throughout your body. The pain usually originates from specific points within your myofascial tissues called “trigger points.”

Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart.

Nimmo Sports Massage

Nimmo is a soft tissue manual technique that works on neurophysiological principles to reduce the tone/spasm of trigger points in the muscular system.  It is theorized that formation of a trigger point occurs through an abnormal neural reflex arc.  Nimmo uses ischemic compression to help release active and satellite trigger points.

Prenatal Massage

Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.

Babies and Children Massage

Infants and Children benefit from massage, particularly Zero Balancing, from the stimulation of the central nervous system.

Cranialsacral Therapy

Cranialsacral therapy  is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The goal is to release compression in those areas which alleviates stress and pain.
